Location: Blythewood, SC.
The General Accountant role is based in Blythewood, SC, at a new state of the art duct and masking tape factory, which utilizes Lean manufacturing principles. ~$100MM+ Revenue, ~150 employees. Reporting to the Blythewood Plant Controller, the General Accountant will provide accounting support for the Blythewood, SC factory and European warehouse.
The primary job responsibilities include preparing and entering journal entries for month-end closing, preparing and monitoring monthly account reconciliations with explanations for any significant changes in account balances, and preparing various financialreports. Additional responsibilities include:
? Lead the monthly general ledger closing process. Generate financial statements and support plant reporting.
? Support various labor and headcount reporting. Track and report weekly results for labor variances. Assist with Corporate payroll and benefits reconciliation. Perform local labor and benefits accruals, as necessary.
? Maintain the fixed assets system and depreciation schedules. Track and forecast construction in process and ensure projects are within approved spend limits. Also responsible for lease recording and reconciliation.
? Analyze monthly balance sheet accounts and perform various reconciliations. Maintain and balance subsidiary ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions.
? Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted accounting policies and procedures.
? Continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities. Areas include Capex, Depreciation, Warehousing, and Plant spending. Create periodic reports comparing budget and forecasts to actual costs.
? Prepare for financialaudits and assist in the audit process.
? Resolve accounting discrepancies and issues as necessary.
? Assume additional related responsibilities and projects, as required.
Essential Skills and Requirements
? 4-yearundergraduatedegree in Accounting or Finance.
? Four or more years accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
? CPA or CMA preferred.
? Strong knowledge of GAAP with knowledge of IFRS and Sarbanes Oxley preferred.
? Experience in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level.
? Must have strong command of IT systems. Basic database skills a must. Must be able to use multidimensional reporting tools to retrieve, analyze, and interpret financial data for the plant.
? Prior experience in JD Edwards and Khalix Longview a plus.
