The Strategic Partnerships & Integrations Senior Accountant/Analyst provides financial reporting and analysis for Ochsner consolidating entities, as well as for Ochsner's collaborations / affiliations / joint ventures with external hospitals and health care systems.

Education 

Required - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

Preferred - Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA)


Work Experience

Required - 5 years accounting experience required

Preferred - Experience in public accounting
 
Certifications

Preferred - Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Proficiency in computer software programs such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, and similar programs
  • Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good organizational, communication and time management skills
  • Knowledge of GAAP

Job Duties

  • Perform technical accounting research to assess accounting implications to SP&I and assist with drafting of memos
  • Review current and existing contracts to identify and ensure accurate accounting
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
  • Perform month-end close functions
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Prepare reconciliations
  • Follow internal and external reporting requirements, per agreements/contracts
  • Assists with the financial audit preparation and requests from external auditors
  • Assists with agreed upon procedures as requested by external audit
  • Conduct additional projects and compose various ad hoc financial reports, as needed
