Position Summary

The Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Manager is an integral part of the WorldStrides marketing team, collaborating with division marketing directors and fellowmarketing staff to devise, execute, measure and optimize digital advertising campaigns across all WorldStrides divisions. Through his/her work, the SEM Manager maximizes digital advertising engagement, driving customer acquisition and retention, sales and revenue.

Key Responsibilities

The SEM manager is responsible for all paid search (PPC), display and social media advertising for all WorldStrides divisions. This includes, but is not limited to:

Strategy and execution

  • Designing campaigns for PPC, display and social media advertising
  • Researching and implementing new keywords, continually refining and optimizing for greater performance
  • Providing creative direction for visual and written content for all advertisements, landing pages and web forms
  • Building and editinglanding pages
  • Providing strategy and creative direction for digital advertising lead nurture support efforts, i.e., lead nurture email and calling campaigns
  • Staying abreast of industry trends and continually identifying and presenting new digital advertising opportunities

Budget management

  • Managing digital advertising budget and spend, including bid management

Tracking and reporting

  • Determining key performance indicators and generating weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, providing analysis and recommendations for improvement
  • Tracking performance of campaigns through lead conversion and sales funnel


  • 5+ years of experience managing online customer acquisition
  • 3years of direct experience managing PPC campaigns
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills, with the ability to translate technical data into actionable insights, and sales and marketing goals into effective digitalcampaigns
  • Demonstrated success managing accounts for multiple clients or divisions
  • Strong creative aptitude, including a keen eye for design and copywriting
  • Basic HTML coding skills (advanced skills preferred)
  • Expert-level skills in industry standard content management platforms (preferably Sitecore, WordPress and Drupal), Marketo and Google Analytics
  • Google AdWords and Bing Ads certification, and current, expert-level knowledge of the Google AdWords, Bing Ads and Facebook advertising platforms
  • Current, expert-level knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) and remarketing techniques
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power Point
