Responsible for developing the Seed Division marketing plans for the core FS geography and Ontario. Responsible for implementing the FS Seed Division growth and brand message, Marketing Program development to achieve of overall sales and coordinates marketing efforts with system supported brand partners.


Supervises, leads, and develops the Mgr, Product Marketing – Seed and Assoc, Marketing - Seed.


Develops and implements the Seed Division’s long-term and annual marketing plans and strategies.

Communicates marketing activities with the marketing and field staff for implementation.

Accountable for product line pricing at a level that supports company profit standards in collaboration with the business manager.

Accountable for developing and implementing marketing inputs into annual sales and gross margin and selling expense budgets, annual and long-term sales, and gross margin projections.

Provides leadership for the overall FS seed brand and seed marketing thrust across all seed supported product lines.

Works directly with our system supported brand partners to help coordinate our overall seed marketing efforts with marketing staff and field staff.

Member visits to understand system needs to build marketing programs for growth of system supported brands.

Competitive analysis of seed industry marketing programs and advertisement.

Analyzes current market trends in the industry.

Collaborates with other divisions to uncover whole farm marketing opportunities.


Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

Performs all other duties as assigned.


Normally requires a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or the equivalent thereof, and 6 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of budgeting and executing strategic marketing plans.

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Understanding and experience with seed-related areas including branding, product proficiency, price strategy, marketing, new market development, supply chain, negotiation, policies and procedures along with strategic planning, program execution, budgeting, and communications.

Proven supervisory and leadership skills including staffing, orientation, coaching, performance evaluation, training, and development, etc. and the ability to achieve results through others.

Proven professional communication, persuasion, presentation, and customer service skills.

Demonstrated planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Proven team building skills and the ability to work independently and within team-oriented environment.

Proven computer skills and the ability to use the computer to enhance business processes.

Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight as needed. Travel also includes participation in meetings, field tours and training of field staffs and member company personnel as needed.

A valid passport for out-of-the-country travel is required.
