This position will perform a combination of security design and implementation work, as well as security testing and implementation of new products or enhancements.  This position will also conduct client penetration and vulnerability testing and reporting.  This position will also be responsible for the support of the production environment and ensuring that the appropriate security policies and practices are implemented and enforced. In addition, this position will support the sales organization in all technical matters regarding pre-sales, sales calls, and post-sales. This position will be the main technical resource throughout the sales process and will answer and educate the customer on issues ranging from features, specifications and functionality to integration.


Security Engineer Manager


  • Deploy, manage and maintain all security systems and their corresponding or associated software, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, cryptography systems, and anti-virus software
  • Provide security related reporting to management and clients as appropriate
  • Design, implement, and report on security system and end user activity audits
  • Perform testing and implementation of security related products, practices and policies
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee enforcement of policies, procedures and associated plans for system security administration and user system access based on industry-standard best practices
  • Participate in the design and implementation of a security plan and a disaster recovery plan
  • Recommend, schedule (where appropriate), and apply fixes, security patches, disaster recovery procedures, and any other measures required in the event of a security breach
  • Keep current with emerging security alerts and issues
  • Assist with monitoring the overall operation of company and client networks and participate in problem resolution
  • Contact hardware and software vendors to resolve technical problems
  • Provide end-user support and training for security related products, practices and policies
  • Liaise between sales, product management, engineering and other departments
  • Aid in the proposal process through documentation review and quote approval
  • Support the overall qualification of prospects based upon their technologyinfrastructure
  • Educate qualified prospects on how the EOJ solution is compatible with their IT environment
  • Assist with a needs analysis on the client's network and technology spending
  • Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team
  • Maintain a working knowledge of EOJ products and services
  • Provide customers and EOJ sales staff with technical product advice and support during pre-sales discussions - onsite, remotely or at tradeevents
  • Provide technical services to clients relating to use, operation, and management of technology
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


  • College diploma or university degree in the field of information technology
  • A minimum of 4 years’ work experience with technology
  • A minimum of 2 years’ work experience with security



  • Bachelor’s degree in in the field of information technology

Preferred Certifications:

  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
  • CEH (Certified Ethical hacker)
  • Security +
  • GIAC GSEC (Global Information Assurance Certification)
  • SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
  • Fortinet NSE 4-8


  • Broad hands-on knowledge of firewalls, intrusion prevention/detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices
  • In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems
  • Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and network administration/protocols
  • Intuition and keen instincts to pre-empt attacks
  • Hands-on experience with devices such as firewalls, switches, and routers
  • Knowledge of applicable practices and laws relating to data privacy and protection
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to conduct research into security issues and products as required
  • Strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Highly self motivated and directed
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
