The Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a full time Section Chief for our expanding Pediatric Psychology and Developmental Medicine Section. A strong scholarly background and a passion for a multidisciplinary family centered approach are core requirements for this position. The charge for this enterprise leader is to expand the section’s capabilities around mental health support for those children and families with chronic health issues and autism while supporting the current important functions of atypical developmental pattern assessment, school performance improvement and international adoption.
This position, the Section Chief of Pediatric Psychology and Developmental Medicine, requires a candidate who excels in a highly visible leadership position and is capable of multitasking. It is anticipated that this individual will work with the subspecialties within the Department of Pediatrics and the Children’s Specialty Group to provide mental health support to the children and families requiring services. Specific to this latter charge will be those children and families with chronic health issues. This leader will also be a key intersection for the Department of Pediatrics with the Children’s Hospital Healthcare System and its efforts to expand mental health services in the region and the state of Wisconsin.
As Section Chief of Pediatric Psychology and Developmental Medicine, this individual will report to the Chair of Pediatrics.
Core qualifications for this candidate will be a M.D., D.O. or Ph.D. with identified expertise in mental health delivery and scholarship. Further qualifications include 5 years in academic pediatrics and the ability to foster collegiality and work collaboratively in a matrixed diverse environment. The individual selected for this position will be an enthusiastic, energic and high eIQ leader. Responsibilities for the position include successfully executing a vision for programmatic excellence and growth in all the pediatric enterprise’s missions (clinical care, education, research, community service) while responsibly administrating the section’s finances.
