The SEC Reporting Manager will have complete responsibility and oversight of the SEC reporting process, including timely preparation and submission of quarterly and annual filings (Forms 10-Q and 10-K), assisting with Form 8-K and proxy filings, earnings reports and SOX compliance. This individual will partner closely with our accounting, finance, legal and IR teams on accounting close, technical and significant accounting matters and SEC filing processes and timelines. This individual will also work closely with our external auditors as they perform reviews and audits of our financial statements and review our filings for compliance. This role will report to the Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting and, in addition to SEC reporting, will assist with performing research, documenting the Company’s accounting positions, technical transactions and equity accounting.
What you will do
- Prepare, tieout, analyze and review quarterly and annual SEC filings, including financial statement footnotes, schedules and MD&A
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, Legal and IR team members to manage the SEC reporting process to meet periodic reporting deadlines
- Design, implement and operate relevant SOX controls, ensuring proper scoping, testing and documentation for all key control activities
- On a monthly/quarterly basis, assist in technical accounting areas including stock-based compensation, EPS, equity transactions and statement of cash flows reporting
- Assist in documenting accounting positions for segment reporting, goodwill and long-lived asset impairment and other accounting policies
- Assist in implementing the adoption of new accounting standards
- Assist in preparing management reports, fluctuation analyses and other deliverables as part of the monthly accounting close package
- Implement process improvements to streamline the financial reporting process and improve information quality.
- Work collaboratively with external auditors and SOX implementation team during quarterly reviews and annual audits related to technical accounting and financial reporting
About you
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in SEC Reporting for a public company
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial statement relationships and SEC reporting requirements (S-X, S-K)
- Strong understanding of internal controls over financial reporting and SOX compliance
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting
- Advanced Excel skills
- CPA license (active) a plus
- Public/Big 4 accounting and IPO experience a plus
