What you'll doBecome part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks and train others on sealant application equipment, including sealant dispensers, pumps, hoses, valves, and associated components, to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. Inspect, clean, lubricate, and calibrate equipment according to manufacturer's specifications and maintenance schedules.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues affecting sealant application equipment through systematic troubleshooting techniques. Repair or replace faulty components, such as motors, sensors, solenoids, and control panels, to restore functionality and prevent production disruptions.
- Collaborate with production engineers and automation specialists to optimize sealant application systems for efficiency, reliability, and quality. Identify opportunities for process improvements, equipment upgrades, and automation enhancements to streamline operations and reduce cycle times.
- Create required inventory of spare parts, consumables, and critical components for sealant application equipment. Monitor usage rates, reorder levels, and lead times to ensure adequate stock availability and minimize the risk of unplanned maintenance delays.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures when performing maintenance activities on sealant application equipment. Conduct risk assessments, lockout/tagout procedures, and safety inspections to mitigate hazards and prevent accidents in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Document maintenance activities, equipment modifications, and repairs using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or manual logbooks. Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance trends, and downtime analysis to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide training and technical support to maintenance technicians, operators, and other personnel involved in sealant application operations. Share expertise, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques to build competency and enhance team capabilities in equipment maintenance and repair.
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events daily. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- 5-7+ years of professional experience in automotive production / automated Sealer application, with expertise in achieving stable production processes and in-depth knowledge of production equipment and operations.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree, or similar in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
- Strong knowledge on automated hot and cold Sealer applications
- Knowledge about automated Systems with Fanuc / Semtec preferred.
- Be capable to read, adjust and create Sealer plans.
- Be capable to perform Maintenance work and train others on TPM of Sealer Systems
- Be able to investigate root cause and correct complex welding error situations (investigation in cleanliness, fitting and parameter)
- Be capable to work with a sealer quality system.
- Knowledge about sheet metal and Sealer characteristics for quality control
- Ability to understand mechanical assemblies, complex stations, and automated equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.

Pay TransparencyThis is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $100,000 - $130,000
