A Day in the Life 
The Scrum Master will be responsible for conducting and managing agile scrum activities for multiple teams.  The Scrum Master will ensure that scrum processes are followed and scrum metrics are gathered in order to track team progress.  He/she will work closely with engineering leadership and product leadership to establish priorities and determine delivery dates.  The Scrum Master will be instrumental in driving forward our process to achieve velocity gains.
Essential Functions:

  • Manage sprint execution & ensure process is followed
  • Ensure scrum meetings happen in timely and productive way
  • Ensure deadlines and commitments are based on team capacity, level of effort and commitments are met
  • Track and communicate scrum metrics including velocity, capacity, sprint release progress and retrospective outcomes
  • Clear blockers - Including ensuring PR reviews
  • Ensuring Story Quality/Completeness before grooming
  • Communicate time impacts due to changes in requirements, execution or priority
  • Identify stale work - work that is not being completed
  • Ensure stories and epics have the quality required for accurate grooming and estimation; permission to reject inadequate details, acceptance criteria, missing assets
  • Organize and facilitate, sprint planning, daily standups, backlog grooming, retrospectives and demo meetings
  • Ensure that the teams are practicing the core agile principle of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, visibility and continuous improvement.
  • Recommend improvements and assist with changes to achieve best practices
  • Assist team with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition
  • Identify and remove impediments and prevent distractions so that the team can focus on sprint goals
  • Facilitate discussions and conflict resolution, including escalation of issues, challenges and other problems to senior management

 What We Need from You

  • 3 years’ experience in a Scrum Master role
  • Certified Scrum Master certification required
  • Experience with a web product development team
  • Excellent team player and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse personality types
  • Ability to understand technical issues at a high level
  • Through understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Must have exceptional communication, organization and time management skills
  • Experience in documenting requirements and creating agile stories
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail.
