We are seeking an innovative scientist to join our Bioinformatics team in the Computational Genomics group. This group of computational scientists is responsible for advancing Bristol-Myers Squibb’s industry-leading pipeline in multiple therapeutic areas (including Immuno-Oncology, Cardiovascular, Fibrosis, and Immunoscience) through the strategic application of cutting-edge bioinformatics approaches.

The scientist will be involved with the analysis and integration of NGS data from both pre-clinical and clinical studies, including bulk RNA-Seq, Exome, Whole-Genome, and a variety of single-cell assays. The scientist will also be involved with development of new analysis methods or pipelines, development of tools to make to publicize analysis results to other scientists.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing pre-clinical and clinical NGS datasets.
• Develop new, or update existing, NGS workflows to maximize information derived from NGS datasets.
• Establish best practices for various NGS workflows including experiment design and quality-control metrics.
• Communicate with various stakeholders across relevant teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science or another relevant field or M.Sc. in one of the same fields and 5+ years of experience in the field
• Excellent working knowledge of NGS tools and workflows
• Experience analyzing bulk RNA-Seq, Whole-Exome, Whole-Genome, single-cell assays
• Fluency with Linux, Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, Batch), R/Bioconductor, Python, Git
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate, both written and oral, complex ideas to computational scientists, experimentalists, and clinicians
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills, and rigorous and creative thinking
