Position Summary: Responsible for the operationalization of the research strategic plan within the assigned research Center in compliance with appropriate laws and regulations governing research. Oversees and promotes research of individual and groups of investigators in specific focus areas within the assigned research Center. Works collaboratively with the Center Director(s) and leadership in the Rebecca D Considine Research Institute (RDCRI) to supervise personnel and research activities of the assigned Research Center, including: participating in the development and monitoring of operating and capital budgets and expenditures; preparation of research protocols and, financial, regulatory and other research-related reports and records. Serves as a liaison to investigators and staff within the enterprise and to professional and academic communities external to ACH; develops networks to facilitate the conduct of research. Performs other related teaching, research as assigned. Encouraged to develop and maintain his/her own program of research.
PhD with post-doctoral experience and a minimum of 3 years of clinical research experience, or a Master’s degree with 5 years of clinical research and 5 years of administrative or supervisory oversight is required. Neurology experience strongly preferred, but not required. Must demonstrate expertise in (1) protocol development, feasibility analysis and budget preparation, human subject study approval (2) track record of funded research, and (3) experience leading successful clinical research teams (scientists, coordinators, technicians, trainees). Demonstrates skill and experience in personnel management, professional accountability, advocacy, relationship management and networking required. Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills required.
