Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Scheduling Manager will be responsible to provide leadership to the shipping, and scheduling teams to ensure the uninterrupted supply of product flowing to support manufacturing and sales targets at Centra Industries.

Accountabilities:

  • Overall responsibility for departmental operations to meet delivery, cost and quality goals;
  • Supporting Program Management in development of Production Recovery Plans with internal departments
  • Provide leadership and technical direction to allow team to improve according to key departmental metrics;
  • Create a positive working environment which is committed to excellence, by demonstrating personal commitment to these ideals;
  • Manage employee performance, including employee reviews, disciplinary action, time and attendance, overtime assignments, employee training
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, workflow, and overall department performance
  • Screens and provides input into the hiring of employees; ensures employees receive the appropriate training for their job function including the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment and warehouse machinery
  • Communicates with internal customers to verify order information and resolve shipping-related issues
  • Interprets company policies to teammates and enforces safety regulations
  • Establishes work schedules and ensures that the schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly
  • Screens and provides input into the hiring of employees; ensures employees receive the appropriate training for their job function including the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment and warehouse machinery
  • Develop KPI’s for the senior management team, including analysis of the current business environment and performance (forecast accuracy, inventory management, and other key supply chain metrics)
  • Manages the master production schedule (MPS).
  • Analyze and Optimize schedule attainment with Weekly Corrective Actions generated with manufacturing and assembly cell leads and management.
  • Plan and control all scheduling activities supporting assigned cells and programs. Balance production and inventory levels with demand to support target consistent with 99% customer service levels, inventory turn goals and capacity utilization/staffing requirements.
  • Develops Sales & Operating Plan summaries for assigned product families and selected SKU’s including demand, inventory and production data.
  • Develops feasible, 18-month master production schedules for finished goods and component items based on capacity requirements. Calculate resulting requirements for raw materials, purchased parts and packaging supplies based on MRP methodology.
  • Develops a full 5 year capacity plan and roll out to external customers as required
  • Provides monthly ESH plan by cell to Director of Operations
  • Customer on-site reviews
  • Interprets company policies to teammates and enforces safety regulations
  • Other relevant tasks as assigned by the Director of Sales

Qualifications:

  • Ability to plan, organize, lead, mentor, coach, motivate and advise employees
  • Results oriented individual with a passion for delivering exceptional results
  • Knowledge of operational/production planning, scheduling, forecasting, ERP & MRP systems
  • Understanding of business models, business analysis & KPI measurements
  • Strong analytical and intuitive skills to interpret forecasts and to use judgment to anticipate and react to demand fluctuations and incorporate these learning’s into an S&OP process
  • Ability to adapt and work well in a continuously changing environment
  • Proven ability to maintain effective and timely communication with internal and external customers
  • Desire to actively participate and contribute to the success of the business team
  • Completion of post-secondary education in Materials Management or a related field
  • Expert user of Microsoft windows, with emphasis on Excel, Access, PowerPoint
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Experience in a fast paced machining and/or aerospace environment
