Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and driving the Quality and Operational needs for the Agricultural business unit.  This metrically and results oriented, data driven individual will be required to think and plan strategically and serve as a business partner to SBU Management, Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing.  The successful candidate must have exceptional leadership and influencing skills and be able to motivate individuals and project teams to complete top quality work in a timely manner that meets Rain Bird’s high quality expectations. 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Work closely with the SBU Director, actively lead and participate in SBU Strategic Planning and regularly report quality conditions
  • Set goals, priorities and direction for quality initiatives and develop metrics that clearly distinguish incremental contributions
  • Be a quality champion and ensure our products, systems and services meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Analyze the Agriculture product portfolio and proactively identify risks to quality then assemble project teams and take immediate action to reduce risk exposures
  • Help Rain Bird achieve sales growth targets by preparing processes, systems and organizations for scaling up and facilitating important changes to meet future business needs
  • Innovate to achieve industry-leading delivery while adapting Rain Bird’s systems to meet the unique needs of our Agricultural customers

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree and 10 or more years of experience in a quality related or technical discipline
  • Demonstrated vision, detailed planning and superior execution and results achievement in prior positions
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Aptitude for quantitative analysis, strategic thinking and tactical execution
  • Strong internal and external interpersonal influencing and leadership skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of work schedule visiting manufacturing plants and customers

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA or other advanced degree
  • General management, operations and customer communication experience
  • Knowledge of quality standards, processes and related disciplines and techniques such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean, FMEA and Supplier Quality Assurance
  • Previous Ag experience and / or irrigation industry experience
