Job Description: The candidate will be responsible for the design and development of SAW and BAW filters for mobile handset applications. The candidate will work, in a major leading role, with a group of domestic and international filter designers performing modeling, filter design, and device characterization. The candidate will present design reviews which are expected to demonstrate compliance to the specifications using simulation and measured results. Detailed performance requirements for the filter design will be created by the system, module, and component engineering groups along with input from the filter designer. The candidate will interface with the above teams reporting their design progress which would include collecting, tracking and resolving any performance issues.
Job Requirements: The candidate must be an expert in SAW and/or BAW filter design. He or she must understand the basic device physics, has the ability to develop and use advanced modeling techniques to design filters and be able to translate between the model, simulation, physical implementation, and the measured performance of a device. This job also requires an expertise in simulation tools, RF device characterization techniques and associated test equipment. This person must have good communication skills, be able to break down complex problems, set priorities, report progress and execute to a schedule.
Preferred: The candidate should possess a MS degree or higher degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in SAW and/or BAW filter design and modeling. The candidate should have experience in developing filter and duplexer designs for mobile handset applications. Critical skill set should include: 1) filter design 2) model creation 3) hands-on experience with RF measurements and characterization and 4) expertise in various CAD tools such as HFSS, ADS and Cadence. Experience in RF and microwave PA/LNA design, module development, and large-signal circuit design would be valuable.
