JOB DESCRIPTION: Roles and Responsibilities: ATG is currently seeking a Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to fill one full-time position at its Ft. Meade MD location. This position will support the US Space Force Commercial Satellite Communications Office (USSF/CSCO). The SATCOM SME performs technical analytical studies of satellite communications systems and recommends architecture designs and/or modifications, and defines implementation requirements; coordinates programmatic and technical issues with CSCO contractors and other government organizations; reviews contract proposals and make recommendations for resolving technical issues; oversees testing and inspection activities; and participates in technical reviews or management evaluations among other related duties.
The SATCOM employee will serve as technical expert on executive-level project teams providing technical interpretation, alternatives and advice. Thinks independently and demonstrates exceptional written and oral communications skills. Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles concepts and strategies. Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated. Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development towards execution.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: - Bachelor's (BA/BS) Degree (MS preferred)
- 10-15 years of hands-on experience with DoD and/or commercial SATCOM systems to include Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test and Evaluation and Training.
- Proficient in Microsoft Tools Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Experience supporting the Department of Defense
- SECRET clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance (TS/SCI preferred)
- Career interest in SATCOM systems
