Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Specialty: Endoscopy
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 07:00-15:30
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Experience: Minimum of 3 years
License: RN license required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS (must be from American Heart Association)
Must-Have:
- Intra-procedural level experience in Gastroenterology
- Proficient in scope reprocessing
- Experience with Olympus equipment
- Procedural tech experience
Job Description:
- Perform pre, intra, and post-procedure nursing care for endoscopy patients.
- Assist with colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and bronchoscopy procedures.
- Demonstrate critical actions, including biopsy, Savary dilatation, balloon dilatation, variceal banding, foreign body retrieval, clip application, snare procedures, and all required ERCP procedures.
- Display knowledge of therapeutic injection methods, polyp raising, tattooing, and argon plasma coagulation.
- Retrieve foreign bodies using Roth net and rat tooth techniques.
- Demonstrate non-critical actions such as assisting team members and troubleshooting equipment and supplies.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records using Cerner system.
- Care for an adult patient population with mid to high acuity levels.
- Possibly float to PreOp unit if endoscopy cases are low.
- On-call duties include weekend and evening coverage as needed.
