General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The Channel Partners Sales Representative will design a Branded Products’ growth strategy within the sales territory.  Responsibilities include managing, enhancing and expanding Branded Products’ sales for existing and new Ag distribution customers with key focus areas being Branded Products; Nutritional, Adjuvants, and Actives products.    

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

  • Have an understanding and knowledge of all aspects of agricultural crop protection and fertilization
  • Strong organizational skills required with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with technology applications for conducting business and for agricultural business
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture or Business-related field is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience in Agricultural Technologies of Nutritional, Adjuvant and Actives products
  • Preferred wholesale experience

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • Conducting thorough review of existing and potential customers and identifying best candidates for Channel Partners’ sales
  • Understanding existing and new customer business, determining their needs and developing plans and actions for territory sales growth
  • Managing existing customer base to ensure levels of service and sharing of product knowledge is consistent with Wilbur Ellis’ values and practices to ensure retention and growth of customer base
  • Key Account Management
    • Responsible for sales territory forecasting and analysis
    • Communicating pricing structure to customers, and communicate any pricing and market challenges to Channel Partners’ Manager
    • Working closely with Channel Partners’ Manager and appropriate credit manager on possible financing needs, establishment of credit limits and adherence to agreed upon credit policy
    • Acting as customer advocate across Wilbur-Ellis Agribusiness to resolve any internal or external issues
  • Communicating with Channel Partner Manager about initiatives, objectives, strategies, and action plans for maintaining existing customer base, enhancing service/product offerings to customer base and attracting and obtaining new customers
  • Adhering to credit policies and managing risk for the company  
  • Participating in marketing and sales planning; establishing and meeting sales goals; and networking with industry representatives to expand sales opportunities
  • Building product and market knowledge to add understanding and credibility
  • Providing support to other Channel Partners team members as necessary to attain performance goals  
  • Presenting a professional image to our customers in all interactions (verbal, computer and face-to-face) through personal appearance and overall demeanor
  • Following all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhering to all policies (i.e., credit, equipment usage, social media policy) and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the Employee Handbook
  • Performing all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner
  • Travel required up to 50%
