Primary Function:

The Sales Representative’s key responsibilities include developing new prospects and interacting with existing customers to increase sales of the division’s products (rigid packaging for the Food and Dairy markets). This position is a field sales role that requires interfacing with the management group and product development as well as working closely with Customer Service Representatives and Manufacturing personnel in order to service existing customers and build new relationships

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Developing new business prospects through cold-calling and other methods
  • Developing and implementing selling strategies with customers
  • Interacting with existing customers to increase sales of organization’s products
  • Interfacing with management group and product development to service existing customers and build new relationships
  • Forecasting sales volumes based on current and historic order rates
  • Administration of pricing, quality issues and claims; requiredreports
  • Conducting in-field analysis between Berry Plastics and competitive products

Position Requirements and Experience

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the sales function
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Performs a variety of tasks
  • 3+years of progressive outside sales experience; manufacturing desirable
  • Excellent communication and team building skills
  • Ability to work cross functionally to drive business solutions
  • Results oriented
  • Innovative, with strong change agent capabilities
  • Sales training experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Home office based – Colorado or Texas preferred
  • Ability to travel (50% - 75% of the time)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
