Summary: Our client is a $500 million leading ingredient company who is in an aggressive growth mode! We have been retained to find a talented Sales Representative!

The Sales Representative maintains and increases wallet share of assigned customers primarily via telephone. The position drives sales of company products and applies programs and resources to maximize sales revenue and profitability. In this position, 70% of the Sales Representative's time is spent on outbound selling activities. The Sales Representative collaborates with field sales to identify and execute on prospective customer opportunities. Interacts with service personnel to recommend appropriate services to maximize customer satisfaction and build value-based relationships. In the absence of this role or any incumbent, the immediate supervisor assumes responsibility for all duties and delegation of authority.

Snapshot:

  • Sources new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound prospecting via cold calls and emails.
  • Meets or exceeds individual sales revenue and profit budget.
  • Utilizes sales tools and resources including CRM and Mintel/GNPD.
  • Develop account plans for top customers and prospects demonstrating understanding of customer needs and requirements.
  • Routes qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure.
  • Provides pricing and services in alignment with company pricing strategy and service capabilities.
  • Researches accounts, identify key players and generate interest.
  • Maintains and expand your database of prospects within your assigned territory.
  • Teams with channel partners to build pipeline and close deals.
  • Performs effective online demos to prospects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, or other related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • At least two (2) years of inside sales or related experience (within ingredient sales) including experience with CRM systems
  • Track record of over-achieving sales goals
  • Self-motivation in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills ? strong phone presence and experience with making dozens of calls per day
  • Effective listening and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and strategic-thinking skills
  • Proven ability to develop positive working relationships and partnerships with internal customers and peers, and to effectively manage those relationships ? strong customer service skills, flexibility, and empathy
  • Ability to effectively resolve issues in a timely manner using sound judgment, critical thinking, decision-making, and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity, complexity, and change in a dynamic business environment
  • Extreme attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and database applications
  • Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools.
