Gillies Coffee Company, “America’s Oldest Coffee Merchant,” is seeking an EAGER, OUTGOING, PROFESSIONAL SALES PERSON.
Gillies Coffee Company, a small family business, with a national clientele and reputation, and strong local New York roots, has an immediate opening for an energetic sales professional to assist its expansion of wholesale coffee buying customers within its home territory of metropolitan New York. Coffee and/or sales experience is a strong plus, but not necessary. A love of coffee and a liking for your fellow man is essential.
At Gillies we are passionate about coffee and sharing what we learn about it with our crew, and our customers.
Responsibilities for this position include:
– Sales, marketing, and customer service
– Following and developing leads
– Cold canvassing for new business
The succesful job candidate will report directly to the business owners. The candidate will posses a sense of personal honor and integrity, and will expect to find those same attributes in his/her employer. You should expect to gain knowledge in all facets of coffee production, including green coffee sourcing, roasting, and different brew methods.
The succesful candidate will also have:

– The ability to prioritize and problem-solve
– An excellent verbal and written communication skill set
Gillies offers a competitive base salary plus commision based on performance, paid holidays and vacation, and partial medical benefits. Our plant location in Brooklyn New York is near bus and subway routes, and 1.2 miles from Barclays Center, home of the Brooklyn Nets.
