Sales Manager / Business Leader -- SE Massachusetts (Taunton area)
Our client is a thriving global player in the logistics, distribution and warehousing industry. Their business is booming and long-term double-digit organic growth has been the norm. New locations are coming on-line at a pace of several per year; there are now more than 40 locations worldwide.
They have asked for our assistance in identifying potential candidates for a Sales Manager position based out of one of their facilities near Taunton, MA.
This role is a hybrid - leading the business, to include the financials and a number of people, and also directly handling outside sales.
The Sales Manager will manage a small customer service/inside sales team, and will be responsible for outside sales, with both new account development and account management responsibility.
Their sale involves a complex supply chain solution.
They typically will do a detailed analysis of the potential customer's operation in order to develop an appropriate strategic solution, including quantifying performance metrics and cost savings.
They want someone with a solid track record in outside sales who has done very well when ranked against their peers.
The position reports to the Regional Director of Sales & Operations. Both the Sales Manager and the GM share P&L responsibility for the facility, so this is very much a 'Business Leader' position.
Although much of his/her time will be spent out with customers, this person will need to be in the facility almost daily and must be located within normal commuting distance.
- Total comp could be 150 - 200 K or even more. Up to 125K base (possibly more for the right person)+ a scaled bonus that can be extremely lucrative...it's tied directly to the profitability of the facility and can be very significant--their top Sales Managers are more than doubling their base salaries with their incentive plan.
- $500/mo car allowance plus credit card to cover fuel, etc.
-Bachelor's degree and 4 or more years experience.
-Experience with complex solution sales in some facet of the logistics/3PL/supply chain/transportation/distribution/warehousing arena.
-That experience must be Business-to-Business (B2B), not B2C.
-A blend of 'hunting' - new business, new accounts - and account management. Must do both well.
-Excellent results and rankings...track record of exceeding goals and of ranking highly when benchmarked against othersales professionals in your current/past roles.
-Strong abilities to overcome objections and close the sale.
-Already live in the SE MA area or have lived there in the past and willing to return.
