Avalara is looking for an Accounting Sales Executive to join a group of dynamic sales professionals. This individual will drive new sales growth within the Accounting channel. Operating as part of a highly driven, high performing team, our Accounting Sales Executives are responsible for selling products that are part of the “Avalara For Accountants” (A4A) Solution. Working with our accounting partners, this individual will educate accounting partners, build trust and rapport, while evangelizing, promoting and demonstrating the A4A product solution. A4A enables accounting partners to provide cost effective and efficient services to their clients using Avalara's state-of-the-art cloud-based software platforms.
Responsibilities:
Identify sales opportunities through direct prospecting, lead follow up, networking and partner relationships.
Manage sales process through qualification, needs analysis, product demonstration, negotiation and close.
Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge about Avalara's A4A product solutions and offerings.
Present webinars and trainings and attend partner, alliance and industry events to build brand awareness of the A4A offering.
Develop and maintain an understanding of the marketplace, competitive offerings and other business issues relevant to the position.
Use effective time management to maximize results.
Develop and maintain relationships with Avalara accounting partners to increase opportunities.
Document daily sales activities in sales force automation tool, prepare accurate reports and forecasts, manage pipeline and perform other tasks necessary to drive sales revenue and communicate activities to sales management.
Be an active team player both on the sales team and throughout Avalara to help meet company objectives.
Provide feedback from field experience to internal cross-functional teams with regard to product, selling, competitive, etc. matters.
Interact constructively with internal colleagues and departments within Avalara.
Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:
BA/BS or equivalent experience required. Accounting degree preferred.
CPA, and/or Masters of Taxation a strong plus
Public Accounting experience and/or direct selling into Accounting firms required.
Partner Management experience required.
4+ years of successful B2B sales experience in Accounting channel with an emphasis on acquiring new partners and leveraging partner relationships
Experience selling to all levels of a public accounting firm, including Principals and Partners
Knowledge and expertise in Sales and Local Tax, Sales & Use Tax compliance and accounting principles required.
Documented success achieving and exceeding assigned quotas
Consultative, solution-based sales methodology
Sales experience with financial/accounting applications and/or hosted software solutions or the accounting & financial services industry is a strong plus
Previous experience with Salesforce is preferred
Strong business acumen
Excellent PC and Internet skills, including experience using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Salesforce.com, Slack, automation tools and web presentation applications (Zoom, Webex, GoTo Meeting, Placeware, etc.)
Highly motivated and able to work independently
Creative problem solver and quick learner
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills with an emphasis on persuasion & influence and subject matter expertise
