Job Description

This position will be responsible for new business development of Electric Drive and Controls sales in Michigan and Northern Ohio. Target customers will be limited to select industry segments and will include machine builders, integrators, and manufacturers.

  • Build customer relationships around products and services we supply
  • Provide excellent customer service and timely responses while interfacing with internal and external customers and distributor(s)
  • Provide necessary support to customers and distributors in assigned territory in order to achieve sales goals
  • Identify machine requirements and propose product solutions
  • Perform product launches, presentations, and product demonstrations
  • Identify and develop new markets, customers, and applications for Bosch Rexroth products
  • Aid in the execution of overall business strategy
  • Track and drive new sales opportunities and progress at target accounts


  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering or other degree with 5+ years applying and/or selling industrial controls and servo drives
  • Knowledge of factory automation used in discrete manufacturing
  • Must be able to cold call
  • Ability to establish and manage relationships with customers and distributors
  • Direct experience in programming PLCs, CNCs, motion controls, and/or servo drives
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and perform complex calculations to determine equipment requirements
  • A basic understanding around the use of OPC UA, IT Networking, product data collection, and higher level programming languages such as C# or VB
  • Ability to solve problems at technical, commercial, and operational level
  • Desire to implement Industry 4.0 solutions
  • Position requires 50-70% travel primarily in the assigned territory
