Overview

NV5 Geospatial Software is looking for a Sales Engineer to join our team.

Sales Engineers at NV5 Geospatial Software provide consultative advice, technical expertise, and training to help our customers solve problems in markets such as Defense and Intelligence, Transportation, Utilities, Environmental Monitoring, Energy, Precision Agriculture, and other exciting and growing fields.

A Sales Engineering Specialist is considered an experienced professional with proficient knowledge of job area and practical knowledge of project management.

May manage projects or processes with general supervision. Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.

Recommends enhancements to systems and processes. Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates the capabilities of ENVI remote sensing software ecosystem and related products to current and potential customers via in-person meeting or teleconferencing.
  • Provides customers and sales team with direct, consultative technical product/project advice and interactive demo support during pre & post sales discussions.
  • Provides strategic named account and/or geographic territory support and pre-sales consulting and training.
  • Develops and delivers technical ENVI related training to support our commercial customers.
  • Assists and supports Account Managers and regional team with the development of account strategies.
  • Answers prospects and salesperson’s detailed, difficult product and implementation questions.
  • Prepares and performs detailed product demonstrations and product prototypes for prospects.
  • Will act as a technical & business liaison between Sales & Consulting Services Group (CSG), Product Management, Development, Technical Support, etc.
  • Develop technical content to support Marketing needs.
  • Provide support for Regional, National and Global tradeshow events through conference support and presentation.


Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Ability to solve complex sales support problems.
  • A minimum of 3 years technical product support experience.
  • Must be able to deliver training content in area of “demonstrated expertise” (as outlined above) to successfully support prospects and customers’ training needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer focus skills.
  • Excellent oral and digital communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or Science, or other technically related field with an emphasis in remote sensing and GIS.
  • Ability to translate technical customer requirements into prioritizations for the product and engineering teams.


Desired Skills and Experience

  • Master’s degree
  • Demonstrated experience with common GIS and remote sensing software such as ArcPro, Google Earth Engine, ENVI, ERDAS Imagine, eCognition, or Socet GXP.
  • Knowledge of satellite and airborne remote sensing collection methods and product generation
  • Familiarity of remote sensing modalities including Panchromatic, Multispectral, Hyperspectral, SAR, Thermal, LiDAR, and FMV.
  • Familiarity of remote sensing imagery processing techniques such as machine learning, deep learning, OBIA, and hyperspectral material identification
  • Experience with developing and delivering training both in person and through teleconferencing.


The pay range for this position in Colorado is $70,000.00- $100,000.00 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. Base pay information is based on market location. Applicants should apply via the NV5 careers site.
