The Sales Engineer (SE) is a senior level position who is a key contributor to Black Box Network Services' Enterprise Solution Engineering practice. The SE will need to leverage a healthy balance of leadership, technical and sales skills in a very dynamic and fast pace environment. The SE is an integral part of both the strategic sales process and ensuring post sale solution adoption. Leveraging (Company) innovative solution portfolio, the primary objective is providing technical thought leadership for our largest and most complex unified communication and collaboration opportunities. The primary customer interaction for this role is with C-Level executives, technology management and line of business owners.
As a Sales Engineer (SE), you will be the lead technical evangelist responsible for defining customer requirements and designing solutions that fit from our portfolio of software and services.
The SE should be competent in handling constant change and leading change with respect to (Company) resources, our channel partners and our customers. As a SE, you will be placed at the center of activities, entailing a high level of interaction with customers and internal organizations (product management, development, service and sales teams).
Sales Engineers are proven thought leaders with strong background in Unified Communications and Collaboration design. With (Company) "Open" architecture strategy, seamless interoperability in software based, multi-vendor environments is common. Therefore a thorough understanding of industry solutions is required.
Sales Engineers must have experience in presenting to diverse audiences and possess excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to effectively correspond with all levels of a client organization in the technical, operational and executive suites.
Sales Engineers must have experience in architecting complex solutions; which may include network infrastructure, security, voice infrastructure, unified messaging, unified communications, video conferencing and contact centers. Experience with design of virtualized deployments of such solutions is also required.
Sales Engineers have design ownership of key strategic opportunities and are responsible for coordinating resources involved to ensure technical deliverables are properly completed and submitted in a timely manner and that expectations are realistic and achievable. Therefore, strong leadership and project management skills are required.
Technical Skills: Technical Solution Engineers must be strong technology generalists who can speak with authority on a broad range of UC and technology topics. They must have a strong working knowledge in the following technology areas and be a bona fide subject matter expert in at least (5) of the following disciplines:
Consultative Selling: Prior Technical Sales required.
