Job DescriptionThe Sales Application Engineer II will provide solutions to architects, specifying engineers, and mechanical contractors in the design and installation of product systems; In addition, provide application sizing and design solutions to internal and external sales/service staff.
This position will serve our
Air Conditioning Division. This is a remote position, with preference in
Fort Smith, AR, subject to Rheem's remote working policy, and requires up to 10% travel.
Responsibilities - Provide product application sizing and design solutions to internal and external engineering, sales and service staff, sales reps, distributors, and business owners
- Define Electronic Controls solutions for commercial business segments with controls and system design, field specifications, installation, and ROI analysis.
- Provide direct technical support and problem solving to building owners and contractors.
- Be a part of the engineering team (internal and/or external) responsible for developing the electronic controls (hardware, software, and algorithms) for the product and support integration of various communication protocols.
- Research and interpret, with respect to product, code and regulations (C&Rs) requirements for national, state, and local C&Rs, and provide guidance to internal and external customers related to the impacts of applicable C&Rs on the design and application of systems.
- Perform competitive teardowns and evaluations on 3rd party controllers.
- Provide support in the control system/application design, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of controls and major system components such as controls, sensors, compressors, motors, etc.
- Provide support with creation of project quotes showing relevant specifications, complete with sizing information, electrical, vent and refrigerant line diagrams and install solutions, including accessories
- Provide expertise for diagnosing and resolving controls, installation, and application challenges in the field
- Create technical support documents for products and maintain the technical documents on the web
- Work with Training team to make sure that training materials are relevant and updated
- Work with mechanical contractors, building engineers, and controls technicians to integrate new equipment into existing or new facilities.
- Help support and maintain electronic and technical application manuals/documents for Rheem commercial products.
- Help support controls roadmaps for Rheem products.
- Assist with the development of content for, and conduct, sales & application training presentations for a variety of internal and external customers.
- Support the specification and development of new products/accessories
- May, at times, be needed to examine building layouts, electrical schematics, refrigerants, and venting systems to anticipate potential difficulties with operation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of application engineering experience.
- Experience in specifying and selecting specific product technologies for building applications
- Experience working with sales or external customers
- Ability to find technical solutions to problems and articulate them in written communication (drawings/ specs/ description/ reports)
- Excellent attention to detail - high level of accuracy is of critical importance
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills
HOW TO STAND OUT: - Advanced Degree in Engineering or related field
- Experience with industry specific product design
The Pay scale of this role based in Colorado and Washington is $71,300 - $114,100. The pay scale for this position in California, New York City, New York or Connecticut is $77,004 - $123,228. Please note all pay ranges are broadly stated and any final offer is dependent on factors such as location, direct experience, market guidance and internal equity, among other qualifying criteria.
