The Self-Directed Plan Services (SDPS) group is responsible for maintaining and expanding retirement brokerage business relationships with large, institutional retirement providers that have a national presence.   As a SDPS Sales & Relationship VP, you will have a direct impact on the success and growth of the department and clients.  These clients  will include, but not be limited to National Retirement Service Providers, Health Savings Administrators, Large Corporate Plan Sponsors and strategic partners to TD Ameritrade Institutional.  This role will be responsible for the relationship management, consulting and education of client relationships in the development and expansion of net new assets, retention strategies and client growth.  This role will be a key member of the SDPS sales team and will provide guidance and support in the attainment of  SDPS department sales goals.


·         Ability to understand and anticipate client’s existing and future needs in depth and communicate this within the organization

·         Develop compelling solutions to distribution partner and client issues

·         Educate and consult on ways SDPS products can deliver competitive advantage for both new sales and retention

·         Develop joint strategies that are mutually beneficial to the Provider Client and TDA

·         Identify and implement strategies to maintain revenue and profitability metrics.

·         Responsible for monitoring key growth, retention and expense metrics

·         Manage contracts and key business agreements

·         Champion internal allocation of resources and track strategic deliverables

·         Develop joint strategies that are mutually beneficial to the  Provider Client and TDA

·         Identify, train and provide product guidance to external business development channels

·         Engage and lead RFP, strategic pricing and product customization efforts for large prospects

·         Represent TDAI products & technology throughout all stages of the sales process. Not limited to, sales presentations, technology demonstrations & industry conferences.

·         Identify and forge relationships with key stakeholders and influential parties within the client organization.  

·         Ability to relate to people at all levels in the firm

·         Manage the contact matrix ensuring that all potential points of contact and influence are being serviced

·         Ability to build trust and influence all stakeholders & external sales teams


·         Seven or more years’ experience in financial sales, marketing, client/account management or sales consulting within the financial services industry

·         Knowledge of advisory business, retirement brokerage & custodial service platforms a must.

·         Series 7/63 Required

·         Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, marketing or equivalent field is required

·         Minimum of 5 years work experience, military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements
