Autosystems America is a manufacturer of automotive exterior lighting products, which includes headlamps, tail lamps, fog lamps and tail markers.

Major Responsibilities


  • Generally, and under the guidance and parameters set by the responsible Sales account manager and application team management:
    • Prepares and submits quotes and other commercially-related correspondence to the customer
    • provides target pricing
    • responds to quotation feedback
    • Drives closure on commercial issues
  • Engages with the customer in the resolution of commercial issues
  • Stays abreast of potential new business opportunities
  • Remains knowledgeable of customer’s business strategy
  • Participates in the assessment and exploration of new or strategic business opportunities
  • Develops customer presentations
  • Works to ensure customers view Magna Lighting as innovative, proactive, and capable
  • Proficient in customer systems and processes


  • Assists in the development and negotiation of program pricing and responds to internal, corporate, and customer pricing requests
  • Oversees/manages project quotation activities, including assignment of specific responsibilities tocomplete quotations activities in timely fashion
  • Prepares/submits quotes (as approved by the responsible sales account manager) and follows up on deliveries, as required
  • Completes tasks and resolves issues to ensure compliance to program objectives and commercial targets


  • Attends product development and other program team meetings to identify commercial opportunities
  • Helps define and communicate customer requirements to the application teams
  • Appropriately communicates information and opportunities within Magna Lighting
  • Assists in the development of long term strategic goals for magna Lighting
  • Assists in the identification and completion of competitive benchmarking activities
  • Assists, as required, in resolving quality and production issues and commercial aspects of engineering change issues as they relate to the customer
  • Attends production runs with manufacturing representatives, as required
  • Responds to tooling questions (generally non-technical) such as timing and cost
  • Supports regarding cost reduction activities
    • Consults with application team and matrix organizations regarding cost reduction proposals
    • Provides input concerning priority, likelihood of customer acceptance, and applicability to program business strategy
    • Coordinates submission of proposals
    • Responds to customer cost reduction inquiries
  • Regularly visit manufacturing divisions
  • Domestic and international travel, as required

Knowledge and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field, or equivalent workexperience
  • Knowledge of customer, product, and supply base
  • Product experience (lighting) preferred
  • Customer-networking abilities
  • Valid driver’s license and passport

Work Experience

  • Five to ten years of experience in automotive sales, program management, or engineering management

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and technical presentations
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully coordinate/complete multiple tasks within and across departments to meet established and changing deadlines
  • Demonstrated successful performance with independent problem solving and presentation skills
  • Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database applications

Work Environment

Physical Demands – Normal amount of sitting and standing; Ability to move around an office environment and on the production floor; Ability to work at a computer workstation; Ability to bend, twist, lift, reach. Required to carry out job duties and responsibilities in a work environment that may include, but is not limited to, varying levels of noise and/or temperature. Ability to lift max. 50lbs periodically.
