Job Purpose:Safety Technical Specialist will provide direction and advise on technical safety issues and ensure that the system design meets contractual and product safety requirements.Key accountabilities include but not limited to reviewing and approving the System Safety Plan and to ensure the safety activities are in accordance to company’s process, best practices and applicable standards. Technical Specialist will provide technical leadership to the Safety team by defining the Safety Case Strategy, developing safety methods and sharing expert level knowledge.Main Responsibilities:• Provide technical leadership to the Safety team by defining the Safety Case Strategy, developing safety methods and sharing expert level knowledge.• Approve the System Safety Plan and ensure the safety activities are in accordance to company’s process, best practices and applicable standards.• Perform hazard identification studies (HAZID, HAZOP), hazard analyses (PHA, SHA, HAZID, FTA, FHA) and safety analyses (FFMEA, FMECA, FSA).• Review the adequacy and completeness of the safety evidence, including test and verification reports, and approve the Safety Case.• Develop and maintain safety management process and guidelines and best practices, and promote company's safety policy.Key Skills and Qualifications:• Education and technical background in electronics, computer science or electrical field (minimum B.Sc. or equivalent).• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a safety assurance role in safety critical systems - aerospace, train control, medical, nuclear or automotive.• Extensive experience in safety methods and techniques: FTA, FMEA/FMECA, HAZOP/HAZID.• Experience with building Safety Cases / Safety Reports and interfacing with Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) and/or Safety Authorities.• Experience with safety related standards EN 50126/128/129/159, IEC 61508, MIL-STD-882/1629, MoD 00-55/56/58, ARP 4761, IEEE 1474 and AREMA.• Good presentation skills.
