Job Description

Accurate Heating, Cooling and Plumbing is looking for Safety Manager. This position is based in Chillicothe, Columbus, & Dayton offices, as needed.

JOB OVERVIEW
As the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for the overall safety and risk associated with company operations and job projects. The Safety Manager will proactively develop, plan, direct and implement Accurate's safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing refresher courses.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Maintain OSHA safety records and documentation, including incident reports, safety data sheets, and training records.
  • Collaborate with Safety Committee to develop emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
  • Plan and Lead Safety Committee meetings.
  • Monitor employee driving habit data provided by the GPS system. Contact employees (and their supervisor) found to be in violation of speeding and other traffic laws. When appropriate, take action to ensure future compliance.
  • Produce, monitor and report on Tool Box Talks compliance.
  • Make regular (1-2) per week job site visits to ensure the Accurate field employees are operating in accordance with sound safety practices. Particular attention will be focused on excavations, power lifts, and scaffolding.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA.
  • Attend Safety Council meetings.
  • Work with BWC, TPA and Accurate Safety committee to strategize how to reduce injury occurrence and the resulting EMR.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial technology, quality management, occupational health and safety, or a related field.
  • Experience in safety management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence change at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify issues, analyze data, and implement effective solutions.
  • Certification in safety management is preferred.
