Job Description:

  • Conduct site safety audits which includes;
        a. Conduct site safety walkthroughs to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT and other Federal, State and Local safety rules and regulations
        b. Conduct opening and closing meetings with site management and EHS personnel
        c. Generate post-audit reports complete with  corrective actions
        d. Bring potential solutions to the table and ensure timely completion of high priority action items
        e. Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and take necessary remedial actions
  • Safety liaison to Transportation Department and Service Crew
        a. Oversee driver ergonomics and safe material handling
        b. Ensure compliance with applicable safety-related 49 CFR regulations
  • Assist sites with preparation for OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) audits
  • Provide safety expertise and consultative support to all company facilities
  • Assist with the development of new safety standards, policies, procedures, and processes and their implementation across the enterprise
  • Perform onsite Industrial Hygiene (IH) testing at company facilities, as needed
  • Coordinate and conduct safety training, as needed
  • Suggest safety improvements to existing process, procedures and programs
  • Share best practices from prior work experience and site visits enterprise wide
  • Assist with the development and implementation of safety projects
  • Manage travel to and from sites to optimize trips

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Safety or closely related field required
  • 5 years or more in a manufacturing or industrial safety role required
  • Master’s degree in Safety or closely related field preferred
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Designation Certified, Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) Designation and OSHA 10 or 30 Hour trainer certificate preferred
  • Previous multi-site safety experience and DOT Safety responsibility helpful
  • Industrial hygiene, DOT/IATA Hazardous Shipping and related requirements experiencepreferred
