You will work alongside our U.S. Army Ground Vehicle Robotics and Autonomous Systems Center customer and be rewarded with a technically challenging and diverse career in the areas of manned & unmanned ground vehicles, robotics, vehicle electronics, and ground vehicle simulation. In this position, you will serve as a Safety Engineer for TARDEC Robotic and Autonomous Systems projects and programs.
Essential Job Functions:
Work with engineering teams to derive functional and safety-critical requirements in compliance with Government system safety standards.
Develop procedures for system validation and build evidence for the system safety case to be presented to governing agencies or boards such as the Army Fuze Safety Review Board.
Support setup, development, and execution of Safety testing for Army robotics programs.
Work with contractor and other Government lab partners to develop common System Safety testing capabilities.
Requirements Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science, 5+ years professional experience
ideally with a concentration in robotic and autonomous based solutions.
Must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Experience in Safety Critical Systems (Design, Implementation, Test), ideally with automotive systems and/or autonomy systems
Familiarity with Safety Standards such as MIL-STD-882E, ISO 26262, DO-178C
