Job Description

The SAFe Scrum Master/Team Coach (SM/TC) is a servant leader dedicated to fostering Agile excellence within teams and Agile Release Trains (ARTs). This role facilitates iteration events, removes impediments, and promotes high-performing team dynamics while driving continuous improvement. The SM/TC serves as a mentor and coach, guiding Agile teams toward self-organization, maturity, and alignment with SAFe principles to deliver business value effectively. They ensure transparency, facilitate essential Agile ceremonies, and cultivate a collaborative environment where teams can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coach Agile teams in self-organization, Agile best practices, and participation in ART events.
  • Drive Agile maturity by reinforcing Scrum principles, frameworks, and success patterns.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including PI Planning, sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and team syncs.
  • Support teams in navigating interpersonal conflicts, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Serve as a servant leader, guiding teams through coaching, mentorship, and continuous learning.
  • Foster transparency by ensuring proper inspection of Agile artifacts and detecting process anti-patterns.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Owners, and stakeholders to prepare teams for PI Planning.
  • Assist in drafting PI plans, defining objectives, identifying risks, and assigning business value to initiatives.
  • Promote Agile methodologies beyond Scrum, including SAFe, Kanban, and Lean principles.
  • Leverage tools such as Jira Software, Confluence, Jira Align, and AgilityHealth to enhance Agile execution.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Minimum of 8+ years as an Agile practitioner, including experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • SAFe 6.0 Product Owner/Product Manager Certification required.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the SAFe framework.
  • Expertise in facilitating Agile ceremonies and driving team alignment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Agile tools like Jira, Confluence, and LucidCharts.
