KeyMe is a New York City-based company that is revolutionizing the way people gain access to their property. Via artificial intelligence and robotics, it allows users to store, share, and duplicate their physical keys based on a digital image. Fully automated, self-service key duplicating kiosks can be found in over 1,800 locations in 44 states inside of Bed Bath & Beyond, Rite Aid, 7-Eleven stores, and many major grocery store chains today. The free mobile app allows users to manage their keys either scanned at a kiosk or from phone pictures so that they can access their keys when and where they want, at a kiosk or via mail order, and never get locked out again. KeyMe is currently developing a new business to revolutionize locksmith services and create an amazing customer experience based on transparency and trust, while also bringing quality work to locksmiths, eliminating the need for them to pay for dead leads. This new business is fed by demand for these services generated from our local businesses across the company, and in turn the new business will feed KeyMe’s duplication business.
Headquartered in Manhattan, KeyMe is an exciting, well-funded (over $100M raised to date backed by Comcast Ventures, Battery Ventures and White Star Capital, among others), tech startup that is solving real consumer pain points. The company expanded its install base by 5X in 2017, and is on track to more than triple revenue in 2018.
