Job Description

The aggressively growing Midwest's leading consultative technology partner, AOS is looking to expand our family with top-tier talent, in our Springfield, MO, NW Arkansas or Little Rock location with a Route/Switch Security Systems Engineer.

The Route/Switch Security Systems Engineer needs to be familiar with the following products and technologies:

  • BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and RIP routing protocols, routing redistribution, routing policies in small, medium, and large companies
  • Cisco Nexus 5000 & 7000 series data center switches
  • Cisco 6500 series, 4500 series, 3750, 3560, and 3550 Catalyst switches
  • Cisco 7500 series, 7200 series, 3800 series, 2800 series, and 3700 series routers
  • Use Cisco ASA 5500 series security appliances to provide Internet perimeter security, network segmentation, LAN to LAN tunneling, address translation, IPSEC and SSL VPN remote access, and IP secure phone proxy
  • Secure traffic using GETVPN and DMVPN across private and public service provider infrastructures
  • Cisco Unified Wireless Solutions Solution, including Wireless Services Module (WiSM), 4402 and 4404 standalone wireless LAN controller appliances, 1130, 1140 Cisco wireless access points, and Wireless Control System (WCS)
  • Cisco Access Control System (ACS) 4.x
  • Knowledge of Palo Alto is a plus

 Responsibilities will include:

  •  Define, review and enforce information security policy, standards and guidelines for business operations and technology implementations
  •  Proactively identify IT security risks including IT technical implementations or business processes
  •  Conduct security assessments and audits, penetration testing, forensic IT and incident management
  •  Consult on IT Security matters such as incident response, intrusion detection management and IT Security advisories
  • Participate in security project implementations


  •  Diploma / Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with at least 3 years’ experience relevant to security solution/implementation
  • CISSP and/or Cisco Security certifications highly preferred
  •  Good knowledge of security management, auditing methodology, technology risk assessment is required
  •  Firewall and Intrusion Detection Management experience
  •  Independent and able to perform tasks with minimum supervision
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with good command of English
  •  Highly developed customer service skills
  •  Self-motivated, positive attitude and a team player
  • Ability to multi-task
