Route Operations Manager/ Local Purveyor at Boar's Head Brand in Elk Grove Village, IL

Boar’s Head Brand®, the leading provider of premium delicatessen meats and cheeses is seeking a dynamic, service oriented business professional to represent our Brand as a Local Purveyor. This unique position manages all aspects of both supply chain and retail level program execution. Our Local Purveyors are responsible for the overall management of a diversified Distributorship servicing national grocery stores, independent food establishments and large scale Food Service venues. Day to day responsibilities include the management of delivery schedules, product inventory, sales plan execution, in-store selling and merchandising, training, marketing and personnel development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, be capable of providing a high level of customer service on a consistent basis and have proactive management skills along with strong entrepreneurial drive. This position utilizes a broad base of both business and interpersonal skills and will make good use of a variety of previous professional experiences.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

- All aspects of warehousing & inventory management

- Maintaining Boar’s Head’s standards of excellence for all aspects of wholesale distribution and retail execution of Boar’s Head Brand products

- Recruitment, management, development, and coaching of all support staff

- Scheduling and conducting weekly relationship building meetings with store personnel and management

- Accurate completion of all end of day business/settlement transactions

- Ability to utilize business systems and reporting tools to evaluate and monitor business performance

- Establishing and maintaining a performance measurement system to meet route objectives

- Group and individual training of deli sales associates

- Supporting company initiatives (e.g. promotions, new item launches)

- Attending classes, lectures, and seminars for ongoing training

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must have an excellent work ethic, an orientation toward impeccable customer service and strong time management skills.

- Bachelor’s Degree preferred

- Relevant transferable business skills and work experience

- Will need to successfully complete Boar’s Head's Local Purveyor Approval & Training

- Will require some travel (especially during the training phase)
