The OpportunityAltrad is seeking experienced and certified Rope Access Level 3 Technicians to join our team. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in rope access techniques and the ability to supervise and lead Level 1 and Level 2 rope access technicians. You will be responsible for overseeing complex and challenging tasks, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This role entails a 14:7 roster (or 20:8 roster - depending on the point of hire), working 10 hours per day. Flights and accommodation will be provided for non-local candidates on a Full-Time/Fixed-Term Contract basis.
Main Activities- Lead Rope Access Operations: Supervise and conduct rope access operations, including inspection, maintenance, repair, and construction activities at height.
- Safety Oversight: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and conduct risk assessments to ensure the well-being of the team.
- Rigging and Rescue: Set up, inspect, and dismantle rigging systems as per project requirements. Act as the lead rescue technician for all rope access operations.
- Training and Supervision: Oversee and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 technicians, ensuring compliance with rope access standards and providing training when necessary.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed reports of daily activities, inspections, and safety audits in line with company and regulatory standards.
- Equipment Management: Conduct inspections of all rope access equipment before and after use, reporting any defects or needs for replacement to maintain safety standards.
- Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients, addressing any questions or concerns regarding the progress and safety of operations.
Job Qualifications- IRATA Level 3 Certification: Must possess a valid IRATA Level 3 certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of rope access experience, with a strong background in rigging, equipment inspection, and rope rescue.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work at heights for extended periods.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with inspection, maintenance, and repair techniques specific to the industry (i.e. oil and gas, construction, renewable energy).
- Knowledge of Safety Regulations: Strong understanding of industry safety standards and regulatory requirements for rope access work.
- Problem Solving: Ability to assess complex situations and implement effective solutions in high-pressure environments.
- First Aid Certification: Current first aid certification, including knowledge of high-angle rescue techniques.
- Additional Trade Skills: Trade ticket or proof of hours in related trade skills (i.e. insulation, pipefitting, eletrical, painting, inspection techniques).
- Strong Communication Skills: Proficiency in verbal and written communication to document procedures, safety protocols, and interact with clients effectively.
- Self-motivated: The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Project site experience: Experience working in resources or construction industry is desirable.
