Job Description

The purpose of the job is to take technical responsibility for all rockets produced and developed in Rheinmetall Expal Munitions. A solid technical design and analysis capability needs to be established to ensure the successful transfer of the technology on various rocket programs from external technology providers and to support the various rocket and missiles programs in future

The Key performance areas will be:

Establish the know-how and technical capability to support rocket manufacture projects with manufacturing technology to be transferred from external technology providers
Ensure the successful transfer of technology and know-how to support acquisition or manufacture of the various rocket components such as rocket motor casings, mechanical components, igniters, insulation, propellant grain and nozzle components from external technology providers as well as warhead components
Develop the required technical documentation to manufacture, test and accept the various rocket production programs
Develop the know-how and capability to design and develop future rocket programs including mechanical design, casting process tooling, igniter design, insulation application, nozzle mechanical and material design, warhead design, etc
Support the quality assurance and rocket system engineering areas with investigations and data analysis
Support the production organisation with the technical requirements for a rocket propellant plant

Location: Presence in Madrid, Spain.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Post-graduate engineering qualification is preferred
Minimum 5 years' experience in the development process of ammunition or sub-systems for rockets and missiles. A thorough understanding of the functions and technology of rocket motors, warheads and safety and arming devices is preferred
An advanced level of computer literacy is essential, i.e. design and data analysis software
Good reading, writing and communication skills in English is essential. The ability to communicate in Spanish will be an advantage
