Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Roadway Project Manager responsible for the design and preparation of plan submittals related to highway and arterial roadway design, complex intersection design, local roadways, site design, bridge replacement/rehabilitation, traffic design, drainage design for DOTs and other various agencies. This is a technical position with management and business related opportunities.

General Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Perform engineering and project management tasks related to the planning and design of transportation facilities such as freeways, arterials, intersections, bridge replacements, sidewalks and other roadway improvements.
  • Lead a Design Team that produces plans, specifications, cost estimates and schedules for transportation construction projects.
  • Duties include project management, scheduling, budgeting, QC/QA tasks, preparing engineering reports, performing engineering calculations and analysis and furnishing technical documentation for design projects.
  • Works tasks generally pertain to planning and design functions for highways, arterials, traffic, and bridges.
  • Attendance at meetings and interaction with clients should be expected. Effective written and oral communication skills are imperative.
  • Lead the design team in completion of technical efforts of design projects including roadway, traffic, drainage and bridge design projects and reports.
  • Lead the project management of projects both technically and financially to meet the clients expectations in completing quality projects on-time and on budget.
  • Answer any questions and review shop drawings during the construction phase of the project.
  • Participate in business development activities, assist with proposal writing.

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:
  • Bachelor's degree in the civil engineering field required with 10 years of design experience preferred.
  • Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer in Georgia, or ability to obtain within the first 3 months of employment.

  • Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and various engineering software systems: MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, and Bentley Projectwise.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, construction and field assignments can be severe (i.e. Airport noise, inside factories, construction equipment, jack hammers, etc).
