Job Description:

My client is looking for an experienced QI RN with a background in Hospital quality, accreditation and patient safety for a new Acute Care Unit accreditation project.

In this role you will be expected to:

Assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of quality, patient safety and regulatory readiness activities within the Hospital System in collaboration with Hospital and Medical Staff Leadership, Department managers and front line staff.

Lead, facilitate and mentor individuals/teams/committees to assure the successful organization and execution of processes to achieve quality outcomes, patient safety and ongoing accreditation readiness.

Assist with quality management studies through data collection and report development.


*Bachelors DegreeBachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.

*Advanced Expert knowledge in quality and process improvement methodologies such as LEAN or Six Sigma.

*Expert knowledge in systems thinking and patient safety.

*Expert knowledge of hospital operations and processes.

*Effective oral and written communication skills that are responsive to a wide range of audiences.

*Understands organizational dynamics, demonstrates ability to build partnerships with medical staff and lead others toward goal achievement. *Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and strong independent problem solving and analytical skills.

*Demonstrated strength in group presentation, facilitation and project management.

*Ability to prioritize, organize activities and meet deadlines.

*Current knowledge of JCAHO, federal, state and local requirements.

*Strong leadership and management skills.

*Demonstrated success as a facilitator.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:

Masters Degree Masters degree in Nursing, Health Care Management or related field.

Advanced Expertise in statistical process control techniques and tools. Ability to develop pareto graphs, control charts, histograms, scatter-plot diagrams and know when to use appropriately.

Technical knowledge of spreadsheet programs.

Demonstrated ability in implementing large-scale projects.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

*At time of hire WA State RN license.

*At time of hire Certified Professional in Healthcare (CPHQ).

*3 years Recent experience in acute care regulatory compliance (JCAHO, DOH, CMS).

*Demonstrated experience successfully working with medical staff and multidisciplinary team members.

*Clinical experience in acute care.

*Experience in a management and/or leadership position.

*2 years Recent quality improvement experience.

*Recent data management experience.


5 years Experience in regulatory compliance, quality management, performance improvement and patient safety.

External hires must pass a background check/drug screen.
