The Program Manager - RN for the Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Program is responsible for designing and managing the implementation, operations, and evaluation of the VAD Program. Responsibilities include communication to internal and external stakeholders and coordinating reports and statistics of programmatic performance.

The Program Manager - RN analyzes and researches best practices as they relate to the VAD Program and drafts impact analyses and business plans as needed.

Additionally, the incumbent completes and oversees applications for external accreditations, including The Joint Commission VAD accreditation, and participates in various process design and improvement initiatives.

The Program Manager – RN for the VAD Program is considered a clinical and technical expert of Ventricular Assist Devices. Additionally, the Program Manager – RN is responsible for directing, evaluating, and providing feedback to professional level employees who participate in the operations of the Program.

The Program Manager - RN will collaborate extensively with other members of the VAD care team, including heart failure and cardiothoracic surgery faculty and APPs, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, etc, as well as managers across the organization.

The Program Manager – RN reports to the Heart, Vascular and Thoracic Service Line Director, and is considered a crucial role for ensuring the VAD Program follows all CMS and TJC standards to ensure the maintenance and success of the Program.

Education:

Minimum - Master’s degree in Nursing or related field
Preferred -

Work Experience:

Minimum - Five (5) years clinical experience with cardiology or cardiac surgery patient populations.
Preferred - VAD experience preferred and prior experience in program management preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - RN licensed in State of WI
