We are looking for RN Hematology/Oncology Outpatient Clinic for our client in San Diego, CA

Job Title: RN Hematology/Oncology Outpatient Clinic 

Job Location: San Diego, CA

Job Type: Contract - 12 Months / Contract to Hire / Direct Hire

Job Description:

Shift start: 7:00PM 

   

Requirements: Current CA RN license/BLS/PALS/APHON Chemotherapy certification. Minimum 2 years of pediatric hem/onc experience 

Shifts: Rotating, can be a mix of 5 8 hour shifts or 4 10 hours shifts depending on need of unit during contract 

Preferred: Previous Children's Hospital experience/previous travel experience/previous hem/onc therapies. Previous Outpatient Pediatric HemOnc experience. Need EMR charting experience, preferred EPIC, sedation recovery, CPON/CPHON. 

Clinic Summary: Average 60 to 80 patients per day. 

Patient Population: Blood and Marrow Transplantation, Oncology: neuroblastoma, anemia, leukemia/lymphoma, solid tumor, brain tumor. Hematology: hemophilia/ITP/sickle cell anemia. 

Skills: IV therapy, sedation recovery for lumbar puncture and bone marrow aspirate procedures/ central lines, administration of blood products, biologics and chemotherapeutic agents. 

Job details:

  • Functions at the Standard Level of nursing practice. Responsible for independently applying the nursing process through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of pediatric patient care. Selects and administers the appropriate care taking into consideration the age and developmental level and size of the patient. 
  • Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing. Should be able to identify own limitations and seek resources as needed.
