Job Description:

  • RequiredRN - Adolescent Psychiatric

Position Summary:

  • The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, evaluating, and delegating the delivery of skilled patient care
  • The RN is directly accountable and responsible for the quality of care provided to patients and has the authority to direct care, provide education, seek resources at the unit/department level, and delegate appropriate tasks
  • The responsibility cannot be avoided by accepting the orders or direction of others
  • This position requires substantial specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill based upon the principles of biological, physiological, behavioral and sociological sciences, and requires critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding patient care, which includes knowledge and integration of relevant standards, resources, and data

Minimum Requirements:

  • Two years of behavioral health or psych experiencerequired
  • Experiencepreferred in dealing with adolescents that have been involuntarily placed within a psych unit
  • Ability to demonstrate good customer service skills, exhibits patience and tact when interacting with all customers
  • Able to communicate appropriately verbally and in writing to patients, visitors, and staff
  • Possesses good manual dexterity, ability to execute detailed procedures, and visual and auditory acuity for patient environment assessment and required computer technology
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to recognize and respond to visual and auditory alarms/communications
  • Exhibits knowledge of National Patient Goals and adheres to policies and practices designed to increase patient safety


  • Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Washington
  • Bachelor?s degree in nursing preferred
  • BLS / ACLS/ NRP/ PALS/ TNCC certified as indicated by unit specific or specific expectations
