This job will be part of the Services Solutions Group, which helps customers manage test instruments across the instruments' lifecycles - calibration, repair, technology refresh, asset management, consulting, training and product purchase alternatives. With service centers in over 30 countries, Services is a people intensive, local business.
The Services Solutions Group helps customers find new ways to maximize their asset usage, streamline their engineering operations, and achieve lower costs.
Test, calibrate/validate and repair Keysight or Multi-OEM electronic test equipment or analytical instruments, products and modules to maintain functionality and accuracy. Solves technical problems requiring breadth/depth of knowledge of repair, refurbishment, calibration, basic metrology principles, and preventative maintenance techniques/ equipment processes. Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and calibrate electronic precision measurement equipment and calibration laboratory reference standards. A demonstrated ability to learn new, emerging technologies rapidly. Quickly becomes proficient in both repair and calibration support as new products are introduced. Must be able to work well in a team environment. Interprets customer requirements and potential needs to meet customer satisfaction goals. Evaluates assignments and determines actions required. Tasks involve analysis and new/ customized approaches.
Requires higher education or specialized training/certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires extensive knowledge and skills to complete specialized tasks.
PMEL or equivalent technical training and is highly desirable
Comprehensive knowledge of metrology principles and measurement uncertainties.
Strong background using network analyzers to calibrate passive devices is highly desirable
Prior experience in a calibration lab or Standards lab is highly desirable
Demonstrated track record of maintaining strong customer relationships with supporting metrics
This position normally requires electronics degree or specialized training/certification. Requires a minimum of 7 years directly related experience, with typically 9 to 15 years' experience.
Proficiently repairs, adjusts, calibrates and/or performs advanced calibrations on a broad range of HP/Agilent/Keysight test equipment.
Uses advanced software skills and/or technical expertise to fix, enhance or develop calibration or repair procedures.
Communicates effectively with internal and external customers. Initiates customer interaction when appropriate. Resolves technical problems and maintains ownership through resolution.
Minimizes rework and re-repair by thoroughly and accurately isolating instrument failures. Identifies re-work and re-repair trends.
Maintains high workmanship standards and delivers on commitments. Promotes ESD, Service Note compliance, and other programs that are conducive to the delivery of high quality service.
This position will either be on 2nd shift (evening) or 3rd shift (night). Candidates must be open to shift work.
