Job Responsibilities


In this role, you will assemble, integrate, and test commercial & military antenna products. This will include conducting antenna characterization measurements including: axial ratio, gain, G/T, isolation, passive intermodulation, performance of temperature, phase matching, polarization, RF power handling, radiation patterns, and return loss/VSWR. You will assist in managing and running an outdoor antenna range. Another aspect to your role will be to will participate in engineering development processes from conducting laboratory measurements and experiments, documenting design changes and improvements, and documenting test setups and results. Throughout this process, you will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and operations to coordinate materials and resources and achieve task objectives. In this role you may also be called upon to assist in some of the integration of the system where you may be measuring BER, performing long loop tests, and characterizing RF paths.



Requirements


Years of Experience: +1 year experience and/or training as an RF Technician, preferably in the field of antennas and RF systems.

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent


  • Citizenship requirements: US Citizenship Required


  • Specific Technologies/Experience:
  • Able to use lab RF and Antenna test equipment such as vector network analyzers, power meters, signal generators, and digital multimeters.
  • Able to solder items like wiring and RF cables.
  • Able to write MATLAB, LabVIEW, or Visual Basic scripts to do basic data manipulation and report population.
  • Functional knowledge of DraftSight or similar basic drawing package.
  • Interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written) and the ability to work in a team environment and work across divisional boundaries.
  • Ability to work independently and with coordinated group design activities.
  • Hands-on design experience through laboratory testing and system measurement desired.
  • Satellite communications systems experience.
  • This position requires periodically climbing to and working in elevations up to 65 feet. If needed, training will be provided to use heavy machinery such as fork lifts and bucket trucks and lifts.
