We are looking for an Architect/Floor Plan Designer (Residential) with design and client guidance background, to work with clients and manage Architectural team and projects.

Job Title:        Residential Architect

Location:        Saratoga, CA

Job Type:       Direct Hire / Full Time


  • Assess client needs; work with clients to brainstorm structural options that will meet their needs
  • Work closelywith prospective and existing clients to create/sketch and sell floor plan conceptual designs
  • Develop plans and coordinate with the Drafting, Estimating and Interior Design departments
  • Manage the Architectural team including assignments, projects and people; lead the team in developing concepts and working with drawings (site plans, floor plans, elevations, details and construction documents) in a 3D modeling tool


  • Residential/Home Floor Plan Design - at least 4years of client-facing residential/home floorplan design experience; strong creative ability to visualize spaces and create pleasing and functional options for clients; ability to sketch options quickly to help clients visualize spaces; solid understanding of how homes are built to assess existing conditions and be able to guide clients toward cost-effective solutions that meet their budgets
  • Team Management - at least 3years experience managing other people; ability to keep projects moving swiftly forward
  • Skills Assessment - must be able to provide design samples/portfolio and willing to do several design/sketch exercises
  • 3D Design/Modeling Tools - CAD, Chief Architect, Revit or similar tools
  • Computer Skills - Microsoft Office Suite
  • Structural Engineering Plans - ability to read, required
  • Architectural Detailing - knowledge, required
  • Building Codes - knowledge, required
  • Soft Skills - excellent client interfacing skills; strong listening and negotiation abilities; ability to work independently and as a team; people happy and busy; strong time management skills, production knowledge and a sense of work ownership; ability to prioritize and concurrently work on multiple projects and maintain deadlines; ability to organize and effectively communicate both in written and verbal formats; ability to anticipate potential conflicts and act to eliminate them before they become problems
