Develops and conducts research projects. Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions, products, and problems. Develops new technologies and protocols. The position involves the structural and biochemical characterization of small molecule inhibitors against Emerging Infectious pathogens including SARS-CoV-2, as part of an integrated drug development pipeline at WRAIR.
Responsibilities:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of applicable complex scientific procedures and techniques; excellent communication skills; ability to troubleshoot technical procedures; ability to work independently and supervise others.
Minimum Education: Doctoral degree is required.
Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: 2-5 years of relevant work experience required.
Background/Security: Must have lived in the U.S. 3 out of the past 5 years; eligible to obtain and maintain a Tier I investigation/ Public Trust and a Common Access Card (CAC).
