Research Engineer - Hardware at Corsair in Carlsbad, CA

General Purpose:

Full-time position available at Corsair to lead Innovation in hardware and product design of next generation of Gaming products

In this position, a candidate will be the key contributor whose responsibilities will help drive the key technologies in our next generation gaming products and accessories

Position Summary, Responsibilities and Expectations:

Lead the research, selection, design, development and modification of digital and analog hardware, systems, and electrical components

Research materials, processes and products to identify technologies for the improvement of existing products or the development of new products

Managing, deriving, and capturing Product/Program requirements including mechanical and electrical interface design specifications, component requirements, and functional block diagrams

Working collaboratively with a multi-functional team, vendors and stakeholders

Performing a breadth of electrical engineering activities: define/refine system architecture, component selection and coordinating embedded firmware development

Experience with troubleshooting, debugging and testing prototype hardware / software

Manage project/workstream/team dependencies and risks while optimizing for constraints; monitor the project status at engineering level and aggregate this into project management level reports

Establishing product development best practice to manage feature roadmaps, release schedules, timelines and budgets

Establish metrics, templates, and milestones for projects including key performance indicators, and track progress and dependencies

Early stage review with patent attorneys to understand the existing product IP landscape so to create products that avoid patent infringement and allow CBB to patent new technologies

Essential Skills and Experience:

4+ years experience in product development

8+ years of electrical design and schematic capture experience

A solid understanding of technical engineering principles and analytical techniques

Knowledge of the hardware development processes

Strong technical experience in complex technology development in a wide array of engineering disciplines with a focus in embedded systems

Excellent interpersonal and influence skills, able to drive efficient collaboration and negotiations, possess courage and confidence in solving difficult situations and timely conflict resolution

Strong attention to detail / accuracy and project management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects

Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization, and work with a diverse group of people

Ability to foster a sense of teamwork

Good communication skills, both written and verbal in Mandarin and English is a must

BSEE or equivalent.
