Research Associate-Fixed Term

Position Summary

The high-energy/lattice-QCD group at Michigan State University is seeking to fill a Research Associate position to start in Summer or Fall 2018. An ideal candidate for this position will be able to contribute to the effort to determine the parton distribution functions (PDFs) and precision hadronic inputs for new-physics searches.

A Ph. D. degree in physics or a related area is required prior to the starting date. Preference will be given to candidates with prior lattice-QCD background, particularly (but not limited to) perturbative and nonperturbative lattice operator renormalization, hadronic matrix elements, multi particle simulation and disconnected-diagram calculations.

The MSU lattice-QCD group, composed of three new faculty, is at the intersection of the departments of Physics and Astronomy, Computational Mathematics, Science and Engineering (CMSE), and the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL/FRIB). A wide range of research opportunities are available to successful candidates. The high-energy theory group has strong efforts in perturbative QCD and physics beyond the Standard Model, and a history of fruitful collaboration with experimentalists.
