The Reporting and Data Manager will lead and grow a dispersed team of Data Visualization and Reporting Analysts and Developers of work closely with multiple business partners to develop and design actionable business dashboards. The team of Data Visualization and Reporting Analysts and Developers will work primarily with the following technology stack (MSQL, Pentaho, SSMS, Excel, Power BI and Tableau) and at times may delve into R and/or Python. Analysts will focus on designing and developing data visualization which allows for drill down ability from executive to agent. Visual metaphors such as speedometers, gauges and expressive faces will be designed to present data in context of meaning. Your ability to deal with uncertainty and make decisions with little oversight will be critical to your success. Critical thinking and the ability to seamlessly span the divide between technology and business is an absolute must.

As the Reporting and Data Manager, your responsibilities will include…

  • Developing business requirements, assessing current reporting capabilities, and making recommendations for improvement. Researches new technologies related to BI and makes recommendations or leads implementation of new systems.
  • Measuring effectiveness of improvements through deep analysis of data on performance metrics striving for cost effective high quality improvements.
  • Carrying out post-event analysis to validate forecast assumptions and identifies all additional factors associated with the change.
  • Driving the technical Business Intelligenceprocesses, infrastructure, monitoring and tools for project delivery.
  • Driving operational excellence through standardization of agreed upon best practices. Drives out defects and ensures processes are in place to positively impact agent and customer experience.
  • Supporting internal and external program teams for scheduled feature deployments obtaining reporting requirements documents, obtaining signoff, managing risks, and developing key insights on the enhancements.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Developing and automating data streams and push/pull analytics
  • Building dashboards, graphs, click through analytics and visual metaphors
  • Harnessing big data into simple to understand insights
  • Designing web interfaces and/or visual analytics from agent to executive level
  • Integrating speech analytics data, Quality insight and coaching packages into a single analytics pathway
  • Pinpointing business requirements and analytical needs.
  • Identifying and recommends useful supplementary data sources.
  • Translating complex analysis into simple and actionable insights.
  • Building tools that power performance and ROI
  • Adherence and documentation of data management regulations and policies.
  • Mentoring less experienced analysts and consultants.
  • Partnering with technology groups on small to medium scale projects.
  • Designing valid experiments, recommend results, and maximize return.
  • Developing consistent, repeatable, data processes that ensure consistency across the entire organization.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned by management.

You are required to have the following qualifications…

  • 7 plus years of reporting or analytics experience or a combination of both; or a BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied mathematics, statistics, engineering,
  • 3+ years of direct team management experience (5-15 directs) as team lead and/or team/dept. manager.
  • Highly Proficient in SQL and relational database analytical tools, as well as a willingness to pick up new skills in this area
  • Experience with ETL tools a plus. Experience working with large data sets a plus
  • Strong business acumen & demonstrated aptitude for analytics that incite action- 'Lean forward' bias to find opportunities and drive results
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Effective communication skills ability to 'tell the story'. Capacity and comfort communicating with all levels of stakeholders (C-level to Customers)
  • Ability to work effectively across functions, disciplines and levels
  • Confident working with various groups (business analysts, developers, and end users)
  • Knack for quickly discerning ad-hoc requests and optimal metrics.
  • Quantitatively proficient


We prefer you also have the following qualifications…

  • Experience managing dispersed teams and developing resources preferred.
  • Robust SQL skills (window functions, denormalization, normalization, procedures, validation)
  • Experience with ETL tools a plus. Experience working with large data sets a plus
  • Familiarity with data warehouse development
  • Experience gathering requirements that identify root cause analysis
  • Skilled in creating presentations from C-level to the individual contributor
  • Experience with R or Python
  • Experience with Machine Learning
  • Extensive knowledge of research and analysis for a business setting
  • Cable, telecommunications or technology industry experience a plus
  • Product Owner experience a plus

Education
